Official Opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum

Sunken Treasures on display

Today, the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM) on the Giza Plateau near Cairo officially opens its doors. We are delighted that a selection of 132 finds from our research in the sunken cities of Thonis-Heracleion and Canopus and the eastern harbour of Alexandria is now permanently on display at the GEM and enriching the museum’s collection of Egypt’s Late Period.
