Extension of Osiris exhibition

Now on view in Zurich until 13 August 2017

Due to popular demand, the Museum Rietberg in Zurich extends the exhibition „Osiris – Egypt’s Sunken Mysteries“ for roughly one month. The sensational findings of maritime archeology can now be seen through August 13 2017. "We are very happy that we could inspire the interest of so many people in Osiris and his Mysteries", says Dr Albert Lutz, director of the Museum, who welcomed the 50.000th visitor of the exhibition by the end of April.

The exhibition is focused on new findings in the sunken ancient cities of Thonis-Heracleion and Canopus off the coast of Egypt. The excavations were directed by Franck Goddio and his team from the European Institute for Underwater Archeology (IEASM) in collaboration with the Egyptian Ministry of Antiquities and supported by the Hilti Foundation. 40 splendid exhibits on loan from museums in Cairo and Alexandria complement the show.
